Chaplains Told to Stop Invoking Jesus at Events

CHARLOTTE (WSOC) – Volunteer chaplains with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have been told they cannot invoke the name of Jesus in prayers at public events, reported.

The policy is not aimed at a particular religion or denomination but was intended to show respect to different faiths, the person who oversees the chaplain program said.
