Abandoned Apartment Complex Fire Likely Arson

CLEVELAND — An abandoned apartment complex fire on Cleveland’s west side was likely the act of an arsonist, Cleveland Fire dispatchers confirmed.

Flames started in the basement of a structure on Lake Avenue near W. 83rd Street.

Firefighters responded to the initial call just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Once everything was under control, the flames flared up again, but were then extinguished.

Th official cause remains under investigation.
