Suspect Involved in Cleveland Standoff Surrenders

CLEVELAND — A man that launched a SWAT standoff in Cleveland surrendered to police and was arrested early on Tuesday morning.

The Cleveland Division of Police SWAT unit responded to the 7700 block of Garden Valley  around 11 p.m. on Monday.

Police were first told a male was holding a female at gunpoint, but later determined the reports were false.

The man remained barricaded alone in the residence and the SWAT unit remained at the scene until he surrendered.

The man was taken to the division’s central prison where he awaits charges
