Police in Arizona say a mother was under the influence of marijuana when she put her five-week-old infant on the roof of her car and drove away.

According to CNN Affiliate KTVK, 19-year-old Catalina Clouser was taken into custody on Saturday morning and charged with aggravated DUI and child abuse after she drove from a friend’s home around 1:00 a.m. and forgot that her child was in a car seat atop the vehicle.

The five-week-old child was discovered in the middle of an intersection in the car seat. Police say the infant was not injured.

According to the report, Clouser had been smoking marijuana with her boyfriend earlier in the evening at a park. She and her boyfriend then decided to drive and purchase some beer. The couple and the infant hopped into a car and headed to a local store.

While driving to the store the boyfriend was pulled-over and arrested on a DUI charge.

According to the report, Clouser became upset over the boyfriend’s arrest and went to a friend’s home to smoke more marijuana. Clouser took the infant with her to the home.

Around 1:00 a.m. Clouser decided to leave the home and placed the infant in the car seat atop her vehicle as she entered her car. The report says that Clouser then drove away, forgetting the infant on the roof of the vehicle.

The child has been placed in the custody of child protective services in the state of Arizona.
