Investigators have arrested someone in a mall shooting in Toronto that killed one person and injured seven others, police said Monday. Police in Toronto confirmed the arrest on Twitter but offered no additional details.

A man opened fire Saturday evening in a busy food court at the Eaton Centre shopping mall, authorities said.

Police have said they had identified a suspect, but did not release a description.

Authorities identified the man who was killed as 24-year-old Ahmed Hassan, of Toronto.

Toronto Police Det. Sgt. Brian Borg said Sunday that police believe the shooting was targeted, and that the victim may have had some gang affiliation.

Among the other victims were a 23-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his neck and chest and remained in critical condition Sunday, said Borg. A 13-year-old boy also remained in critical condition, but was responding well to treatment.
