CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Police Department is searching for a man they say tried to abduct a 12-year-old girl Wednesday morning, Fox 8 News reports.

The incident happened at approximately 7:40 a.m. on West 154th Street, north of Puritas Avenue.

According to CPD, a man followed the girl off of an RTA train, continuing south away from the rapid station. The suspect grabbed the girl’s arm, but she pulled free and started to run. That’s when, police say, the man grabbed her other arm and tried to push her into some shrubs.

A passerby saw what was happening and yelled at the man. The suspect let go of the girl and ran back toward the RTA station. The girl ran in the other direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late-20s or 30s, about 5’8″ tall, 220 lbs., clean-shaven, with a medium complexion and a receding hairline. He was wearing glasses and a royal or medium blue shirt with dark pants.
