AKRON, Ohio — Police in Akron are hoping that surveillance video captured early Sunday morning will help them find a murderer.

According to a release from the Akron Police Detective Bureau, just after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 27th, a homicide took place at East Market and Adams Street.

Authorities believe the man responsible for the murder was captured on surveillance video just moments before the crime.

The suspect, described by police as a black male with a goatee, age 20-29, standing 5’10” to 5’11”, was recorded riding a dark colored BMX Huffy bicycle in the area of the crime.

Officers were called to the scene after receiving word of a fight where the victim was stabbed multiple times. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The victim, identified by police as Anthony D. Hargrove, 30, of Chittenden Street, was later found on a park bench outside of Akron City Hospital. The victim was taken inside of the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says Hargrove died from a stab wound to the torso.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect shown in the video above.
