My Town: Middleburg Heights Memorial Day Ceremony

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio — The City of Middleburg Heights will honor veterans of the United States Military at the Middleburg Heights Veterans Memorial on Friday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Mayor Gary W. Starr and Middleburg Heights City Council will take part in the annual ceremony to honor those who have fought for this country’s freedom.

“Memorial Day is an important time for all of us as we commemorate the service and sacrifices of Americans who have fought and died in years gone by and who serve their country today in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations far removed from our city,” said Starr.

The ceremony will feature comments by Congresswoman Betty Sutton, music by the Billy Kaye Band and the Midpark High School Wind Ensemble.

Veteran groups from around the Middleburg Heights, Berea and Brook  Park area will be recognized and a flag ceremony honoring all veterans and all current military personnel will take place.

Middleburg Heights Veterans Memorial is located on the grounds of the city’s community center at 16000 East Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130.
