Fox 8's Stefani Schaefer gave a quick update Tuesday on her husband's condition. Roger is officially out of his coma! There is still a very long way to go, but that is great news.

"I am so happy to tell you that he is now, as the doctors told us yesterday, officially out of his coma," Stefani told co-host Wayne Dawson. "So, yesterday was literally the first day I felt like I could breathe.

"We have a long way to go. He's not talking. He seems aware. He definitely knows who I am because he puckers his lips when I kiss him.

"We have a long way to go. More mountains to climb. More miracles to happen. No question. ... At this point, the doctors say, we don't know what he'll get back."

Despite the long road ahead, Roger's progress has been extraordinary.

"He's remarkable," Stefani said. "He amazes me."

She also talked about the wonderful prayer shawls that have been sent to her by caring members of the northeast Ohio community -- both churches and individuals.

"You just feel like you're wrapped in God's love," she said about the shawls.

Stefani had the following words to viewers who continue to pray for Roger: "Thank you. I can never even express just how appreciative we are because I have my husband for that.

"You hear great stories, and I appreciate hearing those stories from viewers. It gives you that hope and that faith to keep going."

All along, Stefani has been updating her Facebook fan page to let her friends know how Roger is doing. Read all of her posts there, and please, if you are able, continue to pray for Roger.
