AKRON, Ohio — Firefighters battled a blaze Tuesday morning at a Summit County apartment complex, Fox 8 News reports.

Fire broke out right around 6 a.m. Tuesday inside the community center at the Timber Top Apartments in Akron, just off of Portage Trail. Flying high above the scene, SkyFOX got a good view of it. Flames could be seen in between thick plumes of smoke.

The Akron Fire Department says that the $800,000 building at 1551 Treetop Trail is a total loss.

An AFD dispatcher previously told Fox 8 News that the community center should have been empty. After defensively battling the blaze for hours, crews made their way inside the structure, where they were able to confirm that nobody was inside. There were no injuries.
