Authorities Rule Baby Death A Homicide

WOOSTER, Ohio — The death of a 6-month old baby has officially been ruled a homicide, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.

An autopsy completed Tuesday listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

The baby’s 38-year old sitter described her as having seizure-like symptoms and was taken to Wooster Community Hospital on May 17th with head injuries. The infant was then life flighted to Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron where she died at 2:19 a.m. May 20th.

The Summit County Medial Examiner’s Office and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department say they have been treating the case as a homicide since May 17th.
