Habitat for Humanity Summit County Builds Family a New Home

AKRON, Ohio -- Habitat for Humanity Summit County continued its charity work with a brand new home dedication for a local family Sunday afternoon.

Friends of the family, volunteers and sponsors attended the dedication and a presentation of house keys and a Bible.

The dedication is part of a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and the Habitat Volunteer Builders Coalition, which includes nine local churches.The group promotes fundraisers and other projects to construct a house each year. Families then purchase the home from Habitat for Humanity with a 30-year zero interest mortgage.

The city of Akron and Wells Fargo Advisers also sponsored the house building and dedication.

Habitat for Humanity Summit County has built 170 homes in and around Akron within last 25 years.
