BAINBRIDGE, Ohio -- Police in Bainbridge Township were called to a home on East Washington Street on Saturday morning, after the man living there was found dead.

Neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said they quickly realized it was not a typical investigation, when a small army of police officers and a HAZMAT team responded to the scene.

"He was a sickly person so I'm not surprised he passed away but suspicious circumstances is surprising to me", one neighbor said.

It turns out the first officers on the scene found some unusual equipment inside the dead man's house, and suspected it might be a crystal meth lab. Testing would later reveal the substance being produced was not meth.

One of the neighbors told Fox 8,  "I wanted to stay in the house, I didn't know what was going on over there, but if the police are standing there, it must not have been too bad of an odor or smell or concern."

In fact, authorities later concluded the contraption found inside the home was a still designed to produce moonshine or white lightning. Now that that mystery has been cleared up, investigators are hoping an autopsy will reveal what caused the man's death.
