The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has some new residents this summer.

A family of five Meerkats and a pair of endangered Persian onagers (Asiatic wild ass) were on display to zoo visitors Friday.

The Meerkats have been in Cleveland since Christmas Eve, but the warm weather has allowed them to explore their new home in the African Elephant Crossing.

In case you’re wondering, the Persian onager resembles a donkey but is a bit larger.
