The Cleveland Browns have selected Trevin Wade (CB, Arizona) and Brad Smelley (TE, Alabama) in the 7th round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Texas OLB Emmanual Acho and Boise State DT Billy Winn were the Browns’ pick in the 6th round.

They will join the Brown and Orange, along with 160th overall pick Ryan Miller  (G, Colorado), 120th pick James-Michael Johnson (LB, Nevada) and 100th pick Travis Benjamin (WR, Miami).

Cincinnati defensive tackle John Hughes was the 87th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft.

The Browns were originally supposed to pick at the 67th spot, but they made a trade with Denver and moved down to No. 87 to get Hughes. They also got the 120th choice in that deal.

The Browns went for strength up front as they made their second-round selection Friday night. Former Browns great Gary Collins made the announcement as the team selected Mitchell Schwartz, offensive tackle from California.

He is the second lineman taken by the Browns from California. Center Alex Mack is also a product of Cali.

The Schwartz move was a surprise to many. He has experience playing both left and right tackle. He is expected to man the right tackle spot on the Browns revamped line.
