Marina Del Rey, CA (KTLA) — It was like something out of a movie. Police say a man repelled down the side of a Marina Del Rey luxury residential high rise, landed on a balcony and broke into a woman’s home.

Police say the woman, who lives on the 15th floor of the Regatta complex at Maxella Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard, was startled Saturday morning by the sound of knocking at her window.

That’s when she saw a man dangling outside yelling at her to let him in.

Not recognizing the man, she refused and left her marina-facing condo to call police.

He then pried the windows open with a crowbar and entered her apartment, authorities said.

According to police, the man did not take any property from her home and was able to get away.

About 30 feet worth of rope was found hanging from the roof of the building.

No description of the suspect has been released.

Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance video for more information about the bizarre break in.
