Body Found Under Bridge; Victim Identified

CLEVELAND — A spokesperson for the Cleveland Police Department tells Fox 8 News that a man’s body was discovered under a bridge Monday morning on Cleveland’s east side.

Cleveland Police Sgt. Sammy Morris says that the body of a white male — later identified as 27-year-old Leonard Graceffo — was found under a railroad bridge at the intersection of East 90th Street and Holton Avenue in the city’s Kinsman neighborhood. Authorities initially told Fox 8 News that the victim was a woman.

The discovery was made at approximately 7:19 a.m. An emergency crew found Graceffo nude and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The official cause of death is still unknown. It will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

As a result of the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit’s preliminary investigation, a Dead Body Suspected Violence report is being generated.
