LODI, Ohio -- A normally quiet neighborhood was rocked Thursday morning after police say a teenager stabbed his entire family.

It happened inside a home on Evergreen Street in Lodi.

Dispatch:  "911. What's your emergency?"

Caller:  "My 16-year-old son just stabbed us. Three of us."

Lodi police say the teenager went after his 15-year-old brother first and stabbed him multiple times in the upper body.

Then he went after his dad.

"The father came out and was attacked by the son and was stabbed multiple times in the upper body. The mother who was asleep upstairs heard the commotion and came downstairs. By then, the father had the 16-year-old on the couch and ordered him not to move. The mother basically wanted to know what was going on, and the son stabbed her twice," said Chief Keith Keough, with the Lodi Police Department.

Caller:  "He's bleeding pretty bad, and I'm dripping on the floor--blood on the floor."

Dispatch:  "Okay, does he still have the knife?"

Caller:  "No, he does not. I don't know what happened!"

Police took the teenager to the Juvenile Center and charged him with two counts of attempted murder and one count of felonious assault.

Both the father and brother are recovering at hospitals in Akron; his mother treated and released.

"The family has lived in the village for about a year. We've never had contact with them before, never responded to a domestic before," said Chief Keough.

The teenager himself has no criminal past or history of mental illness.

Police are left with a mystery as to what his motive could be.

"Something like this, very unforeseen.  The parents even told me they were very shocked by what this kid did," added Chief Keough.

The county prosecutor will decide if the teenager will face charges as an adult.
