Suspect Who Attacked Probation Officer Arrested

A fugitive wanted by authorities from several counties for attacking a probation officer and fleeing has been arrested.

William Brown, 42, was arrested at a home on the 3200 block of Hermosa Drive in Youngstown according to officials with the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Brown was discovered as he was attempting to hide in the home’s attic.

Brown was wanted by the Norwalk Police Department for felonious assault on a probation officer, wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant for violating the terms of his bond on a current felony eluding case, and wanted by the state of Louisiana for violating his parole.

On Sunday, March 25, 2012, a probation officer from Richland County was attempting to arrest Brown at the Hunters Glen condominium complex when the assault occurred.

Brown fled the scene in a truck and had remained in hiding for 10 days prior to the arrest.
