Nicolas A. Franik, 38, was taken into custody by police on Tuesday around 5:00 p.m. after police were alerted of the alleged crimes by the girl’s mother.

Lt. Dave Birckbichler tells Fox 8 News that the teenage girl and her mother were talking recently when she disclosed that the abuse had been ongoing for the past six to seven years.

Franik has been charged with one count of sexual battery and is currently being held in the Medina County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Authorities say that their investigation into the alleged crimes remains ongoing and additional charges against Franik are expected

According to Birckbichler, Franik has no prior arrest record.
