2 Dead After Truck Crashes Into Home

WILLOWICK, Ohio -- Two people are dead after a pickup crashed into a Willowick house and then erupted into flames, Fox 8's Stacey Frey reports.

Willowick Police say the vehicle took out a stop sign before slamming into a home on Fairway Boulevard at approximately 3 a.m. The collision quickly sparked a fire that sent flames shooting high into the air.

Crews from Willowick and Wickliffe battled the blaze.

Both of the people inside the truck died as a result of the crash and subsequent fire. Their identities have not yet been released.

The homeowner was inside his house at the time of impact, but he managed to escape injury.

There is no initial word on what caused the accident.
