NCAA: Ohio Defeats Michigan, 65-60

They are celebrating in Athens tonight.

The No. 13 seeded Ohio University Bobcats pulled off an upset in the second round of the Men’s NCAA Tournament, defeating the fourth seed Michigan Wolverines, 65-60, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The Bobcats held a commanding lead for most of the game, though Michigan kept things close in the second half. Junior Guard D.J. Cooper had 21 points for the Bobcats.

Ohio is appearing in its 13th NCAA Tournament. The team posted 27 wins in the 2011-2012 campaign, setting a new single-season record for the school.

Ohio will advance to the third round in the Midwest Region, taking on the winner of Temple/South Florida on Sunday.
