Ray J is struggling with the death of his friend, Whitney Houston.

"I'll address the issue as respectable as I can. I really miss my friend. You know, I really do. I'm still hurting," the R&B singer told reporters Friday at a charity event. "It's just such a tough time for me. I've been through a lot in these past two weeks. I'm able to look at life in a whole different way. I always look at my phone because I've got a picture of somebody that I really love and it helps me through the day."

The 31-year-old entertainer, whose sister is fellow singer Brandy, was linked to Houston for years before her death last month. However, neither of them ever publicly acknowledged a romantic relationship.

Houston died at the age of 48 on February 11. Authorities told CNN they're reviewing additional medical information that will be used in their final ruling on her cause of death, and that a toxicology report should be complete "on or around March 23rd."
