MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- A young Florida girl is making medical history.

A six-year-old named Angela underwent the first triple organ transplant operation performed on a child.

She has a rare disease, and thanks to the eight-hour operation, has a chance to live.

Doctors diagnosed her with WRS and performed the combined liver, kidney and pancreas transplant.

The family lost their younger daughter to the same disease, but by replacing the organs, doctors said Angela is protected from developing future liver or kidney failure.

She will be able to participate in everyday activities just like any other child.
