CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio – If you’ve been a late returning your library books and accumulated a few fines, this could be your week.  For just a little food, your fines will be forgiven.  The Cuyahoga County Public Library will sponsor a Food4Fines food drive at its 28 branches from Sunday, March 4th through Saturday, March 10th.

It’s in partnership with the Cleveland Food Bank’s Harvest for Hunger campaign. You can reduce your fines up to $4 per library visit when you donate one of the following items, which are needed most:

Peanut butter
Canned soup
Canned vegetables
Beef stew
Tuna fish

Each donated item will reduce fines by $1.  Donations are limited to four items per visit and must be dropped off at the check-out desk. Last year, Food4Fines week raised more than 9,000 pounds in donations.
