The Chardon tragedy hits very close to home to Indians owner Larry Dolan and his family.

The family has very deep roots planted in the Chardon community. They have been big boosters of the community in many projects and continue to hold Chardon very close to their hearts.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Indians released a statement from the owner in support of those affected by the Chardon High school shooting that has claimed the lives of three young people.

“On behalf of the Cleveland Indians Baseball Organization, and specifically the Dolan family whose roots are deep in the Chardon community, we offer our deepest sympathy to all involved in this senseless tragedy. We pray that the strength necessary to endure all the pain will come to the survivors. We hope for all of you peace and tranquility in due time.”

Chardon schools are closed until Friday as the community heals. The Tribes owner and his family want nothing more, than to see the community they love, emerge from the dark shadows of these killings and attempt to get back to some sense of normalcy.
