Chardon Schools to Provide Grief Counseling, School to Resume Friday

The superintendent of the Chardon Local Schools Joseph Bergant announced on Tuesday that the school system will be providing grief counseling to students, parents, faculty and staff over the next three days as the district attempts to return to a sense of normalcy following Monday's shootings.

According to Bergant all faculty and staff of Chardon High School are being asked to return to the high school on Wednesday, February 29 at 9a.m. Grief counselors will be on hand to meet with the employees. All faculty and staff of grades kindergarten through 5th are being asked be present at Munson Elementary School at 9a.m. to meet with counselors.

Faculty and staff of grades 6-8 are being asked to report to the Chardon United Methodist Church at 9a.m.

On Thursday, March 1, the students from all grades, kindergarten through 12th, and their parents, are invited to return to their schools to meet with faculty and counselors.

According to Bergant, Chardon Local Schools are planning to return to school in earnest on Friday, March 2.
