MASSILLON, Ohio — The Massillon Police Department is looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run accident that damaged one of their police cruisers.

Officers say their car was side-swiped around 9:00 p.m. Friday, when another vehicle was trying to pass them on State Route 21, near Wilmington Road.

They say conditions were poor due to the snow storm, and the police cruiser spun out and hit a traffic sign.

The car was heavily damaged on the left, driver’s side, but no officers were injured.

Police were unable to follow the suspect because of the damage.

They say the car was a small, silver vehicle, that may now have damage to the driver’s rear side.

Contact the Massillon Police Department with any information regarding the accident.
