CLEVELAND, Ohio —

A young mother and her 1-year-old daughter who were murdered last weekend were laid to rest Saturday morning.

Loved ones gathered at New Bethlehem Baptist Church on Woodland Avenue to say goodbye to 19-year-old Latasha Jackson and her daughter Chaniya Wynn.

The funeral comes exactly one week after police say Jackson’s estranged boyfriend, 35-year-old Thomas Lorde, kidnapped the two at gunpoint as they walked down E. 72nd Street.

Jackson’s younger brother witnessed the abduction and called police. That prompted an Amber Alert which ended in tragedy Sunday morning, when all three of their bodies were discovered inside a vacant garage on Union Avenue.

Officials believe Lorde fatally shot Jackson and her daughter, before turning the gun on himself.
