LeBron James Skills Academy Leaving Northeast Ohio

AKRON, Ohio— He took his talents to South Beach, now his camp is headed to Las Vegas.

Nike announced Tuesday the LeBron James Skills Academy is moving this summer to the city that never sleeps.

James had run his Skills Academy at the University of Akron since its inception in 2007.

The event in Las Vegas fits James’ schedule as he will be be able to participate while training with the United States Olympic basketball team.

James has attracted some of the game’s future stars since he began the camp in his hometown.

Stars like John Wall and DeMar DeRozan were given additional exposure.

Nike, which has had James as one of its marque athletes, will now sponsor the Nike Global Challenge in Washington, D.C. in mid-July with 30 top players from the U.S. divided into east, west, and midwest teams and competing against top international junior teams.
