Police: Robber Tried Shooting Akron Barber

AKRON, Ohio—Akron Police are searching for an armed robber who tried firing a shot at barber during a hold-up Friday night.

According to Akron Police, around 7:00 p.m. on January 13, the suspect entered the Grant Street Barber Shop, located at 1178 Grant Street.

Police say the suspect was carrying a handgun and demanded money. The barber refused to handover any cash to the suspect, and according to authorities, told the suspect to shoot him.

The suspect aimed his gun at the barber and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed and did not fire. He ran from the scene and was last seen running up Cole Avenue.

Anyone with information on the attempted armed robbery is being asked to contact Akron Police.
