COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio -- Multiple fire departments assisted the Columbia Township Fire Department with a massive blaze Saturday afternoon.
Crews were called to a commercial structure fire at 27201 Royalton Road, just after 12:30 p.m. Heavy smoke and flames were reported to be shooting from the top of the building.
Columbia Township Fire Lt. Brett Heidecker told Fox 8 News that firefighters were stalled by a frozen fire hydrant, so water shuttles from Lorain County were sent to fill up the fire trucks.
Heidecker said the fire was strong enough to call in departments from Cuyahoga, Medina and Lorain counties to help douse the flames.
Several businesses inside the building were damaged by the blaze; however, the extent was not immediately known. Luckily, no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
