18-year-old Harriet Akiluga missing from Cleveland's west side

CLEVELAND, Ohio— The Cleveland Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding an 18-year-old woman missing from the city’s west side.

Harriet Akiluga was last seen leaving John Marshall High School at approximately 4:45 p.m. Thursday. Her mother called police after she failed to return home from school.

According to Cleveland police, Akiluga moved to the U.S. from Kenya, Africa, one month ago. Thursday was only the teen’s second day at JMHS.

Authorities say checks with school officials, neighbors and local hospitals have turned up empty.

Akiluga is described as being a black female, 5’2″, 152 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink-hooded sweatshirt, blue shirt and blue pants.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Harriet Akiluga is asked to call the Cleveland Division Police Second District Detective Bureau at (216) 623-5218.
