See how Christmas was celebrated in the Victorian Times on Saturday, December 17th from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Burrell House at the French Creek Nature Center in Sheffield Village.  Visitors will enjoy Christmas songs popular during that period, hear folklore and learn how many of today’s traditions began.  “The Burrells were an early settler family that came to Sheffield and one of the very first families in this area.  They have a homestead that they built that the park now maintains,” said Grant Thompson, Chief Naturalist for Lorain County Metroparks.  There is a free tour each half hour, but reservations are necessary.   “Meet at French creek nature center and you will be bussed over to the house,” Thompson said.  Please call 440-458-5121 or 440-949-5200 to preregister.  French Creek Nature Center is located at 4530 Colorado Avenue.
