The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra will tour internationally for the first time in June of 2012.  The European tour includes concerts in Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg and goes from June 13th through the 21st.  The tour will be music director James Feddeck’s last performances with the group, which he’s led since 2009.  Youth Orchestra members will also enjoy sightseeing tours and other activities, including visiting Mozart’s birthplace and many of the original Sound of Music locations in Salzburg.  The tour is made possible in part by the Vinney family, who established a fund in April of 2011 to provide scholarships to eligible Youth Orchestra members.  The group will also have various fundraisers to help cover the cost of the tour and are available for solo and chamber music performances to earn funds for the trip.  Contact the Youth Orchestra manager at 216-231-7342 for more information.
