CLEVELAND-A broken water main in the Kamm’s Corners neighborhood on Cleveland’s west side has closed a well traveled intersection and a nearby school, Fox 8’s Stacey Frey reports.

Emergency crews are working with the Cleveland Division of Water to repair the busted 10-inch pipe. It’s not one of the bigger ones, but still enough to significantly lower pressure for many residents. No residents, however, have been left completely without water.

Water Department spokesperson John Goersmeyer tells Fox 8 News that water main broke at approximately 1 a.m. Monday. Two feeder mains had to be shut off to get to the broken one. Crews then had to allow time for the water to recede before they could start pumping.

The intersection of Lorain Road and Rocky River Drive will likely be tied up for most of the day.

The nearby Our Lady of Angels school was closed for the safety of the children.
