Before you whip up or eat that pumpkin pie, check your ingredients.

Giant Eagle has recalled pumpkin.

The company said Valu Time canned pumpkin purchased on or after Aug. 30 and Food Club brand canned pumpkin purchased on or after Oct. 28 did not meet quality standards.

Topco Associates, LLC produces both brands.

Giant Eagle said it is not aware of any immediate health concerns related to the pumpkin but is working with Topco to investigate the situation.

The canned pumpkin should be thrown away, as should any product in which the pumpkin was used as an ingredient.

Customers may receive a refund, complimentary pie or replacement ingredients from any area Giant Eagle, Inc. supermarket.
