My Town: Volunteers Needed for Akron’s New Year’s Eve Celebration

Get into First Night Akron 2012 for FREE by volunteering at the event that takes place in Downtown Akron on Saturday, December 31st.  Now in its 16th year, First Night Akron is a family-friendly, alcohol-free New Year’s Eve celebration.  Volunteer duties include greeting guests, checking for admission buttons, introducing performing artists, assisting with hands-on activities, acting as bus hosts and more.   Everyone who donates their time will get free admission to all First Night Akron events before and after their shift and will be invited to the Volunteer Party held in January.   Families, couples, friends, and groups are encouraged to volunteer together.  Applications are available at .  Admission buttons to First Night Akron for non-volunteers are $10 for everyone 10 and older.
