Position Description: You must have three years producing experience and excel at crafting a newscast. NO SHOW STACKERS ALLOWED. The primary responsibility of the News Producer is to produce, write and gather information and graphics for newscasts and station websites. The Producer is responsible for writing and producing news stories, show opens and graphics elements. NO BORING TEASES ALLOWED. The Producer will be required to work flexible schedules, fill in on other newscasts or the station website as needed. The Producer is expected to submit daily story ideas, contribute recommendations on daily story coverage and special assignments. The Producer will also copy edit news stories by reporters and writers, produces special news events, shows and coverage outside the daily newscasts. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position: Planning Producer

WJW FOX 8 in Cleveland is looking for a Planning Producer.  Must have two years minimum producing experience.    This is a wonderful opportunity to work for the number one station in town in an extremely creative position.  We set the bar high for excellence in story coverage.  The Planning Producer is on the front line with our coverage plans.   The person can not wait  to be given an assignment. The candidate also needs to keep up on local, state, national and international events.   This person needs to be able to work on various platforms including broadcast, web and mobile.

Position Description: You must be creative and have great communication skills as well as strong writing skills.  The primary responsibility of the Planning Producer is to originate and research stories and set up interviews.  Develop and maintain long range news coverage plans for the number one station in town.  We don’t do basic.  We want someone that can think outside the box.  The Planning Producer will also book satellite interviews, assist in coordinating technical needs and requirements for news coverage.  Must be organized and a forward thinker.  Must have excellent news judgment.   The Planning Producer must be able to fill in and produce a newscast or cover the assignment desk.

Position: Design Director

Reports To: VP, Creative Services & Programming

Minimum Knowledge, Skill & amp;/or Abilities: Works with VP/Creative Services and programming to create and gate-keep unified station look consistent with station, network and corporate needs. Oversees creation of all graphic applications, including on-air stills, animation, scenic design, web platforms, commercial production as well as off-air applications in print & station signage. This position entails direct supervision of a team of graphic designers and animators, working, training, leading them to ensure consistency of station and newscast brand, look and message. Must be able to identify challenges and develop creative solutions on tight deadline. Must work in a news room environment and be willing to service and prioritize the graphic/artistic needs of all station departments including news, creative services, local programming, commercial production and sales to accomplish goals. Must be able to multi-task and effectively manage multiple productions and personnel. Flexibility to improvise new solutions with limited time/resources. Capable of functioning in a “breaking news” situation and keeping up with the competitive TV market and industry trends.

Position Description: Directs, gate-keeps and oversees the artistic and graphic message, look and brand of WJW Fox 8 television

Education Requirements: Five years experience in on-air design and motion graphics, preferably with previous managerial or supervisory experience. College degree required. Working knowledge, preferable proficiency in graphic design software including photoshop, after effects, final cut, cinema 4D, flash and MAC based animation systems.

Position: Multi-Media Journalist

Minimum Knowledge, Skill &/or Abilities: You must be an expert at using Final Cut Pro. Must be able to carry and handle various types of equipment. Valid Ohio Driver’s License (or able to get one) and maintain a clean driving record. Stamina to carry and operate equipment. Ability to multitask and operate communication equipment. Strong communication skills. Will be required to shoot and edit. Experience necessary.

Position Description: Gather, report and present news on various platforms, including but not limited to mobile, internet and broadcast. Excellent writing and editorial judgment. Strong live and presentation skills. Flexible to work different shifts and schedules. Must be a self starter, enterprising and aggressive. Report, shoot and edit under any type of weather condition or deadline. Ability to shoot and edit video clips on non-linear systems. Familiar with using FTP, Skype and other emerging technologies. Requirements include web posting of text, video, pictures etc. and incorporating social media into day-to-day coverage. Work alone or with co-workers to complete story and or segment for air, web or mobile. Maintain inventory of all assigned equipment and responsible for its upkeep. Communicate maintenance issues to proper personnel. Other duties as assigned.
