    Jury recommends life in prison on 1 count, death penalty on 2nd in New Franklin murders

    AKRON, Ohio –A jury has made its recommendations in the Shawn Ford, Jr. trial. They’ve recommended life in prison on one count and the death penalty on the second count. Ford was found guilty of aggravated murder for the April 2013 double homicide of Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert.     CLEVELAND, Ohio — Friends and classmates Friday gathered outside the home of a little girl who was shot and killed the night before. Davia Garth was just 12 years old. Police say she was shot multiple times by her step-father at her home in the 6900 block of Clement Thursday around 7 p.m. Garth’s mother, Sonya Gray-Garth, was also shot.     CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of his 12-year-old step-daughter Thursday night. According to police, the 59-year-old suspect faces charges of aggravated murder, felonious assault and domestic violence in the case. And that’s not it:  according to NBC News, Gustavo Angel Tamayo claims he’s never played basketball in his life.
