  • Bicyclist struck, injured by SUV overnight

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — A bicyclist was hit and injured on the Detroit-Superior Bridge overnight. The bicyclist is in critical condition. Police say an SUV was traveling east and hit the bike at around 2 a.m. The bridge was restricted to one eastbound lane while police investigated the incident. The bike was in several pieces and was scattered across the bridge. The SUV involved had front-end damage.

  • Lake County prosecutor, Willoughby police say deadly officer-involved shooting was justified

    WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Both the Lake County prosecuting attorney and the Willoughby Police Department have completed investigations of a police-involved shooting that led to the death of a 38-year-old suspect in October. Both agencies determined that the officers’ actions during the incident were justified. Investigators say Frank Sandor, 38, of Cleveland, was shot after he used his car to hit a police motorcycle and a patrolman.   • Veteran police officer hurt during accidental shooting at gun range

    ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — A 25-year veteran Rocky River police officer was hurt after an accidental firearms discharge at a shooting range Monday. According to Rocky River police, it happened at the Lorain Joint Vocational School Law Enforcement Range between 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. The officer was transported by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.   • Police ask for help finding missing or runaway 16-year-old girl from Mansfield

    MANSFIELD, Ohio — Police in Mansfield are asking for help locating a missing/runaway 16-year-old. Sabrina Lacey was last seen in the 200 block of Sycamore St. in Mansfield. She may be traveling to Columbus. Sabrina is described as being 5’2″ tall and 125 pounds. She has blonde hair and hazel eyes. She has a small scar above her left eyebrow.   • Coroner, sheriff’s department: ‘Happy Days’ star Erin Moran ‘likely died’ due to complications of cancer

    NEW SALISBURY, In. — “Happy Days” star Erin Moran likely died due to complications to cancer. That’s according to a press release issued Monday by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the Harrison County Coroner’s Office in Indiana. Moran, 56, passed away at her home in New Salisbury, Indiana, Saturday. The release states that a joint investigation into her death was conducted, and it was determined that she “likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer.” Toxicology tests were performed, and the results are pending.     ELYRIA, Ohio — Police are still searching for a man accused of threatening and then robbing a Speedway clerk at gunpoint last week.
