    Cleveland marks 100th homicide of the year, number up from 2014

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Councilman Zack Reed says the city marked its 100th homicide of the year overnight.   It happened at about 12:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 10600 block of Woodland Avenue. Cleveland police say preliminary information reveals that the 30-year-old male victim and a suspect were arguing.     School transportation van with 3 students on board shot at in Cleveland, no injuries

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — The back window of a school transportation mini-van with three students on board was shot at Tuesday morning. No one was injured. The students were reportedly being taken to Cleveland School of the Arts at the time. The shooting happened as the van was traveling on Colombia Avenue near East 105th Street.     Man loses job over Facebook post about co-worker’s 3-year-old son

    ATLANTA, Ga. — An Atlanta man was fired from his job over a post that caused outrage on Facebook. Fox 5 Atlanta reports that Gerod Roth was fired last week after posting a photo he took at work with his co-worker’s child behind him. Roth is white, and the child is black.     All lanes of state Route 2 open in Lorain County

    LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — All lanes have reopened after crashes involving multiple vehicles on state Route 2 eastbound in Lorain County. Authorities say the crashes happened between Interstate 90 and state Route 57 Tuesday morning. At least five vehicles were involved in the crashes, which happened in construction zones.     MENTOR, Ohio — A man charged in the death of a 1-year-old boy in Mentor was issued $1 million bond in court Monday. Anthony Francisco Garcea, 23, faces a charge of murder in the death of 1-year-old Khalil Abbasi. Garcea cried while talking to the judge in court.     ATM stolen after vehicle backs into gas station store

    OAKWOOD VILLAGE, Ohio — Police are investigating after a vehicle was reportedly backed into a Marathon in Oakwood Village and an ATM was stolen from inside the store. It happened at a Marathon gas station at Broadway Avenue and Pettibone Road early Monday morning. Police believe the suspects backed into the store and dragged the ATM out with their vehicle. No arrests were made, and the incident is under investigation.
