  • Traffic alert: Center Street Swing Bridge closed ‘indefinitely’

    CLEVELAND — The Center Street Bridge in the Flats has closed indefinitely, the City of Cleveland announced in a new release. Maintenance crews are evaluating repairs needed to get the bridge back on line.     VALLEY CITY, Ohio — A handful of dogs from Texas will get a fresh start in Northeast Ohio, thanks to a local rescue group. Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue (LELRR) in Valley City teamed up with Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue to give seven precious pups a second chance.     CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the shooting death of a 29-year-old man. It happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at East 118th Street and Buckeye Avenue, where police found a vehicle that had crashed into a building.     COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities say a 17-year-old girl has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of her 1-year-old daughter in Ohio’s capital city of Columbus. Police say officers and paramedics were called to a home just before 1 a.m. Sunday for a baby not moving and in need of medical attention. They found Lalanna Sharpe with several stab wounds.     MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The bond between a Connecticut police officer and his K-9 partner was captured in a single photo, touching lives across the country. Officer D’Aresta with the Middletown Police Department was forced to say goodbye to Hunter, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer, the department said in a Facebook post.     CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the death of a person, whose body was found on the city’s east side Monday night.
