    Ohio panel to weigh funding for Ebola protection

    COLUMBUS, Ohio — A legislative panel in Ohio is expected to consider a funding request to help pay for more protective gear for health care providers should the state have a suspected or confirmed case of Ebola. The Ohio Department of Health is requesting approval from the state Controlling Board to spend $300,000 for more equipment. It also seeks to spend up to $500,000 to dispose of contaminated linens and other items if a case occurs. The board is scheduled […]

    Accidents cause major backup on I-71 northbound

    Two separate accidents on I-71 northbound created a major backup Monday morning. The first involved seven vehicles, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. It happened on I-71 northbound just past Bagley Road. Fox 8 traffic reporter Patty Harken said at least two people were pulled from vehicles, placed on gurneys and sent to the hospital. The other accident happened on I-71 northbound past Route 82.  Details were not immediately available. Expect heavy delays. Click here for more traffic updates.

    Man makes plea a year after his drunk driving confession went viral

    The Ohio man who confessed in a viral video that he killed a man while driving drunk released a new video a year after the accident.     16 contacts in Summit, Cuyahoga being monitored for Ebola

    AKRON, Ohio — Health officials announced Friday there were no cases of the Ebola virus disease in Summit County. Sixteen people were being monitored after having contact with Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who visited Northeast Ohio and was then diagnosed with Ebola after returning to Texas.
