    NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio — Firefighters say 13 people were being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. The North Royalton Fire Department told Fox 8 News there was an issue at Seneca Tape and Label on Progress Parkway in North Royalton. Crews responded around 10:40 a.m. Friday.     School in Oberlin closed due to nearby fire

    OBERLIN, Ohio — Eastwood Elementary School was closed Friday due to a fire across the street. An announcement was posted on the Oberlin City Schools’ website. Parents who called Fox 8 News said areas near the school were blocked off so crews could fight the fire. Other information was not immediately available.

    Witnesses sought after child struck in hit-skip

    ORRVILLE, Ohio — Police hope to talk to witnesses after a 9-year-old was hit by a car Thursday. It happened along Schrock Road in Orrville around 7:30 p.m. The Orrville Police Department said the child is OK. Anyone who saw the accident was asked to call 330-684-5025.

    Man found guilty in New Franklin double homicide

    AKRON, Ohio — Shawn Ford Jr. was found guilty of aggravated murder in the April 2013 double homicide of Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert of New Franklin. The husband and wife, ages 56 and 59 respectively, were beaten to death with a sledge hammer inside their home. The crime happened ten days after their daughter, Chelsea, was beaten and stabbed while out with Ford, a crime he is also accused of committing.
