    Driver ejected in overnight fatal accident

    CLEVELAND — One driver died and another was injured following an accident on the city’s east side early Monday morning. The accident happened at Eddy Road and Arlington Avenue shortly after midnight. Police said a driver speeding on Eddy Road collided with another driver and was ejected. The driver died on-scene. The other driver was treated at the scene for non life-threatening injuries. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased as Richard L. Lynch, 32, of Cleveland.

    GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Authorities have located a 12-year-old girl taken inside a stolen vehicle. Garfield Heights police say the black 2000 Chevrolet Impala was stolen around 12 a.m. Friday at the Open Pantry in the 4500 block of East 131st Street.     Crews battle fire in downtown historic district

    WADSWORTH, Ohio — Several departments battled a fire in the downtown historic district in Wadsworth overnight. The fire broke at The Sub Station after 11 p.m. Monday and contained shortly thereafter. The Sharon Township Fire Department, Norton Fire Department and Rittman Fire Department all assisted in fighting the fire. No injuries related to the fire have been reported. The cause of the fire is unknown and currently under investigation.

    Man injured in shooting on city’s east side

    CLEVELAND — Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s east side. The shooting occurred at the 10500 block of Superior Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday night. Police say one 32-year-old male was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center with an injury to the leg in critical condition. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time.

    KIRTLAND, Ohio — Fire crews worked through frigid temperatures to fight a house fire early Tuesday morning. The fire was reported at a home at the 8000 block of Singlefoot Trail in Kirtland around 12:30 a.m. Fifteen crews responded to the 3-alarm fire and the home is a total loss. The three residents inside the home were not injured. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
