CLEVELAND-- Freezing rain and snow are making some roads treacherous.
Cleveland police at just after 7:30 p.m., asked people to please stay off the roads if at all possible.
They said officers continue to respond to crashes and spin outs, so remember to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles.
Police say calls for crashes are slowing down as rush hour traffic subsides.

Cleveland could see between 3 and 5 inches of snow before early Saturday morning and much of the area is under winter weather alerts.
Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Penitentiary Glen Nature Center and the Environmental Learning Center will close at 11 a.m.
Akron Public Schools is postponing the Dies Wrestling Tournament at Firestone Community Learning Center. It was scheduled for Friday night and Saturday.
Parma Municipal Court will close at noon on Friday.
John Carroll University offices and library closing at 1 p.m. All afternoon campus activities are canceled.
Kent State Stark closing at noon and will remain closed through Saturday. Smart Start Saturday new student orientation also canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Tri-C closing all campuses and facilities at noon on Friday.
All games canceled today for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Senate League.
Garfield Heights Municipal Court will be closing at 3 p.m. Friday.
Medina County Auditor’s Office is closing at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Due to the forecasted worsening weather this afternoon, Friday, Jan. 12, YSU classes will be cancelled as of 3 p.m. All Saturday classes are also cancelled. While the university remains open, there will be limited services across campus. pic.twitter.com/ckojTDq4r6

Sandusky County is under a Level 1 snow emergenccy.
Portage County Commissioners’ facilities will close at 3 p.m. to all non-essential staff.
All Northeast Ohio Heinen’s locations will be closing at 4 p.m. because of inclement weather. Stores will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The Cleveland Foundation Skating Rink at Public Square is closed because of severe winter weather.
Greater Cleveland RTA: Waterfront line trains replaced with 67R buses between Tower City and South Harbor because of ice on the overhead. Ice cutters are moving slowly to de-ice the overhead trail lines. Delays of 20 to 30 minutes to be expect on Red, Blue and Green lines.
Interstate 90 eastbound between McKinley Avenue and Warren Road in Cleveland restricted because of high water.

Comedian John Mulaney’s two shows at Playhouse Square are canceled tonight.
Cuyahoga Falls has issued a snow parking ban. It goes into effect at 5 p.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. Saturday.
Comedian John Mulaney’s 7 p.m. & 10 p.m. shows at Playhouse Square have been rescheduled for Friday, March 16. The January 12 tickets will be honored for the same curtain times.

Due to severe weather conditions, icy roads and increased traffic, multiple bus lines in all areas of Cuyahoga County are experiencing 10 to 12 minute delays.

Chick-fil-A in Strongsville has just announced it will close at 7 p.m. The restaurant will reopen Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Holmes County is now under a Level 2 snow emergency.
