Two young girls in Amber Alert found safe; Suspect in custody

CLEVELAND-- An Amber Alert for two young children was canceled after they were found safe Thursday night.

The children were abducted by their suicidal father following a domestic incident, the Cleveland Division of Police said. It happened on East 149th Street near Kinsman Road.

Cleveland police said the suspect, 30-year-old Antonio Hart, lead police on a brief chase and rammed a cruiser. He ran through a field near at East 66th Street and Warsaw Avenu before officers took him into custody.

The girls, ages 2 years and 9 months, were found safe inside the vehicle.

"He was going to some places that were kind of expected," Cmdr. Brandon Kutz said. "He was kind of ahead of us a few steps, with some friends' houses and family members' house."

Hart could face charges for domestic violence, kidnapping and assault on a police officer.
