Four people dead in Canton shooting

CANTON, Ohio--  Four people were killed during a shooting at a Canton house Thursday afternoon.

It happened on Smith Avenue Northwest, just blocks away from Clarendon Elementary School.

Capt. David Kurzinsky said officers were called to the house at about 1:45 p.m., and found two men and two women dead inside. The victims suffered apparent gunshot wounds.

Kurzinsky said this was a domestic situation and there is no threat to the public.

A dog was also shot and killed. The Stark County Humane Society removed two other dogs and a cat from the home.

The Stark County Coroner's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations is also at the scene.
