WILLOUGHBY, Ohio– All lanes of Interstate 90 west in Lake County are back open Tuesday afternoon following a crash involving two tractor trailers.

A multi-trailer unit lost control in the snowy conditions and went off the side of the highway near state Route 306 at about 5 a.m. Tuesday. Willoughby police said the freight liner rolled over and crossed three lanes of traffic.

A second semi didn’t see the overturned tractor trailer and hit it.

The driver of the first truck was briefly trapped inside, then taken to Lake West Medical Center. The other driver and passenger were not injured.

All westbound lanes were closed for much of the morning, but were reopened around 12:30 p.m.
