PARMA, Ohio — Among a few of the community projects the Our Lady of Angels CYO cheerleaders take part in, the cheerleaders took up a collection within their school all week for the Parma Animal Shelter.

Saturday, they had a community drop off at the school for the West Park neighborhood, where everyone had the opportunity to help the animals for Christmas.

They were greeted by the staff at the Parma Animal Shelter, given a tour, educated on the cats and dogs, had the opportunity to pet the animals and unloaded the massive amount of donations from four vehicles!

The staff was overwhelmed at the collection as President Carol Rini was left in tears by the gesture of the OLA Cheerleaders. She gave them a certificate of appreciation, plenty of hugs and an invitation to come back. The cheerleaders plan on participating on a bigger scale to bring awareness for younger kids to become involved with helping the animals in the future.
