CANTON, Ohio - Surveillance cameras were rolling December 4th at Mary Ann Donuts in Canton when a thief stopped in.

"It was business as usual. We had a customer come in, he bought a drink. He saw the Toys for Tots can. He took it and walked right out the door," said Manager Danielle Brickwood.

The theft was discovered when employees couldn’t find the can at the end of the day.

"To me it was obviously disheartening. It's upsetting to see anyone steal from charity," said Brickwood.

Bob Harris runs Toys for Tots for the McKinley detachment of the Marine Corps League.

"I’ve been doing Toys for Tots in Stark County in the past 22 years. In the past 22 years, I’ve lost 3 cans. Until this past weekend, I ended up losing 5 of our cans," said Harris.

Harris says the five cans were taken at five different locations.

It infuriates him to no end.

"Because I love the children. This is what gives them Christmas in Stark County," said Harris.

Meantime, police are asking the public to take a good look at the surveillance video.

Anyone with any information is asked to give Canton Police a call.
