Woman, 26, shot and killed in Fremont; man arrested

FREMONT, Ohio — A woman is dead and a man is being held in jail after a shooting in Sandusky County early Sunday morning, police have confirmed to Fox 8 News.

It happened just after 1 a.m. in the 700 block of Willow Street in Fremont.

Fremont police said officers responded and found that 26-year-old Gabriella Rojas had been shot.  She died at the scene.

Mauricio Valois-Perez, 30, has been arrested and charged in her murder.  He’s being held in Sandusky County Jail until his court appearance Monday morning.

Investigators believe the shooting is an isolated incident, with no concern for public safety, a news release stated.
